In July of 2006, Sri Chinmoy visited Kamakura, Japan, for one week and went many times to pay tribute to the Daibutsu, the giant statue of Lord Buddha. During one visit, Sri Chinmoy gave an open-air concert in front of this sacred monument to the Buddha. Read more »

Sri Chinmoy taught meditation through silence. By meditating with him, one became aware of the vastness, purity and depth of consciousness that one could find inside one’s own being. Sri Chinmoy may no longer be with us in person, but fortunately we have a wealth of footage of the Master in meditation, in which the same powerful effect can be felt by the viewer.

Sri Chinmoy was officially invited to hold the opening meditation at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago on August 28, 1993. This event was held to mark the centenary of the original World Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893.

On the last day of this year’s Self Transcendence 3100 Mile Race, first-time runner and soon-to-be finisher Nirbhasa Magee shares his thoughts on the significance of the race. Nirbhasa finished the race in a time of 51 days and 12 hours, becoming the first Irishman to do so. This year’s race was especially notable in that it saw the establishment of new men’s and women’s world records. Read more »

At the time of writing, Ashrita Furman holds 130 Guinness Records, and is the only person to have ever held over 100 records simultaneously. In 2010, Ashrita visited Budapest, Hungary and broke several world records. He also gave some talks on record breaking.
